A JOURNAL PAGE

I really ought to learn how to crop these photos then you don't see all the other stuff behind.
It's ages since I did an Art Journal page but when i saw this image in my Nespresso magazine I knew I wanted to use it for a page and this is the result, I really enjoyed myself with this page.

IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME

I haven't blogged since last March and done very little in the way of "ART" although I have actually kept up with my Art Calendar, some months not all the journal squares were filled in but nevertheless I did it. So here is November just waiting to be filled in, the photo isn't all that good as the light outside at this time of year is not good especially in the north of England.

BIRTHDAY SURPRISE A FRIENDSHIP QUILT

It has been my birthday this weekend, I have reached another decade but I am not going to say which one, however it was significant enough for a group of four friends to make me the most fantastic present, all hand made.Ann Briggs, Christine Jones, Sandra Hall and Lynne Hunter (the Craft Den) all got together towards the end of last year to make me this beautiful "throw" for my bed, the quilting work that has gone into it is unbelievable. I was lost for words and quite emotional that these friends would spend so much time and work making what can only be described as an heirloom for me, we have a King size bed so you can just imagine the size of this beautiful piece of work, I just love, love, love everything about it. We all met up today at Sandra's house (Sandy Poppins) as we were going for a celebration lunch this is when they presented me with this stunning surprise. My photo does not do it justice in real life it is amazing and is actually a "Friendship Quilt" not a throw as I said earlier.

JOURNAL SOUP

Hi everyone, here is my first journal page for Journal Soup organised by the lovely Kate aka the Kathryn Wheel. If you want to know more about it then just pop along to Kate's blog where you will find the details or on Face Book.
The background consists of torn strips of black and white paper and strips of masking tape all to give texture. I coated the majority of the page with Gesso and pressed a piece of card into it to give added texture, when it was dry I sprayed Dylusion inks.
I used Dyan's ghosting technique through a Dylusion stencil and sprayed through the stencil too I stamped on to the page with Dylusion stamps "Basic Backgrounds". The images and borders were I think from Tumblefish Studios. I used my Portfolios around the images, circles and computer generated quotes to give yet more texture. I am quite pleased with this page I may later add more to it but for the moment I am happy with it.

FEBRUARY ART CALENDAR CHALLENGE

I had my February page already to go last Monday but forgot to blog it until just now when I went to link it to Kate's blog page and realised it wasn't on here but anyway here it is now. The background is done with Gelatos then Dylusion inks sprayed through stencils, my journal squares are Blonde Moments and my images etc are from the Octopode Factory
. I had no idea what I was going to do when I started it but it all came together as I worked on the page, hope you like it.

ART JOURNALLING FOR REGULARS

Hi everyone, I was at AFTH last Friday. It was art journalling for us regulars, it was a brill day and we did something completely different, at least I had never done a page like it. We were given the task of finding a face in a magazine to stick in our journals on a page with a completed background and this is the result.

ART CALENDAR 2014

Hi everyone, I hope you have all had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my blogging friends, I hope it brings you everything you wish for. Well here's my January page for Kate's Art Calendar challenge,
this is my fifth year of the challenge can you tell I enjoy doing it lol. My page has a very wintry feel to it lots of icy blue and snowflakes everywhere. My numbers are dare I say it silver peel offs but I thought they go with the icy feel. I don't know why I decided on such a cold spread as it is quite warm here in the north of England at the moment, my car registered 10c this afternoon, incredible. Anyway less of the rambling and  I hope you like my page.
I don't know why when i post the photo it now always ends up in the middle of the writing, does anybody know why?
