CHRISTMAS CARDS

Today I went to one of my regular classes but a different teacher, I had not met her before. I went because the description was for Christmas cards using the cuttlebug, lol, we made one card using the CB. I will not mention the teachers name or the place but I have never been to such a disorganised class, it was a free for all. The first hour was spent chatting with her regulars. Luckily the young woman who was working with me was of the same opinion as me, so we just got on with it and actually made these 6 cards, seen in real life they are a bit messy and not to my taste as I don't like large cards. When Christmas comes I don't know how we are expected to post them as we didn't get envelopes with them and by the end of the afternoon I had had enough and couldn't be bothered. The teacher is probably at a disadvantage with me as all the classes I go to and have been to over the years have been really good and well organised people. I have another class booked for November with the same teach, I am obviously going to cancel.

Ready Steady Stamp Challenge

This is a "fat quarter" I made for this weeks Ready Steady Stamp challenge. The instructions were to use some stamping, the colours brown, cream, and white, scalloped circles, rain drops and it had to incorporate the letter A. I hope this photo turns out better than the last one which was not very clear. I am still very new to blogging and computers so you will have to excuse mistakes, please.

A SPANISH SENORITA

I made this ATC for the Dezinaworld challenge, immediately I saw the image it made me think of a Spanish dancer with the black mantilla.

ORIENTAL ATC BOOK

ORIENTAL BOOK

Oriental books

On Wednesday evening I was at the Craft Den again, can't get enough of it. They are all such a friendly, happy crowd, it was quite a laugh last night. We were all making a Oriental book from grey board, covering them with red, gold and black oriental papers. The pages were all different sizes and the fronts were folding arch doors lol. Well talk about a challenge, one after the other we kept getting the fronts wrong but in the end they all turned out fine thanks to a very patient Lynne who had designed this book. I had with me a small fold up book which holds 4 ATC's and I had made it using oriental colours (the papers were Basic Grey) red, black and gold and i stamped using Woodware oriental stamps. If I remember rightly I got the idea from a copy of Craft Stamper.

ALTERED TIN

Tuesday I went to the Craft Den and had a very pleasant evening altering a small tin. First we coverered the tin with Ranger alcohol inks inside and out. On the outside lid we triple embossed, using Blonde Moments Ultra Thick embossing powder, stamped and brushed with Blonde Moments powder. The inside was decorated with Crafty Individuals papers and minature pictures. We also made a mini book to hold small photos which fits inside the tin.

A very relaxing ATC morning.

Yesterday morning I went to a class at a local craft shop (Samuel Taylors Brighouse). Six of us had a very pleasant morning making ATC's,chatting, drinking coffee/tea and eating biscuits, followed by the usual need to buy more stash. Liz the teacher had made 6 ATC's for us to copy, I made 4 obviously spent too much time drinking coffee and eating biscuits and didn't have time to make all 6!!!!!

This is an ATC which my friend Ann made for me. Isn't it fantastic, she made it from balsa wood and beeswax. When she gave it to me she said it wasn't very good!!!! I think it is wonderful. We do a swap each month and this is for August, I can't wait to see what she produces next month

another day in blogland.

Here is the card I made for the Norwegian lady, she is over 80 yrs old, I hope she likes it. The card actually looks much better in the flesh, the photo is not very good. The papers are from Laundry Line which I got from The Craft Den.

my first blog.

I'm sitting here, not knowing what to write for my first blog. My header picture is an ATC I did for a friend, we do a monthly swap. The idea came from Sue Roddis an article she did in Craft Stamper but i did mine on sticky back canvas. I haven't done any crafting today as my two grand-daughters are here overnight in fact they have set up this blog for me. I am making a card for a friend whoneeds one to send to a Norwegian lady, I hope she likes it, its always difficult making cards for other people to send. Oooh can't wait for tomorow, going to Lynne's at the Craft Den, we are making an Accordian envelope book.
